Battery Manufacturing Engineering Location:
Hybrid- Dearborn, MI (4 days onsite + supplier site travel)
Pay:
$42.30/hour We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Engineer to support battery manufacturing engineering programs with a focus on industrial engineering studies, capacity analysis, time studies, and ergonomic risk reduction for new model vehicle launches. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant assembly workstation design across powertrain and battery manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in ergonomics, industrial engineering, and manufacturing systems, with the ability to evaluate complex assembly processes using digital human modeling tools. Key Responsibilities Perform ergonomic assessments for new model programs using Design for Ergonomics (DFE) procedures
Provide technical guidance on ergonomic standards for assembly workstation design and implementation
Conduct high-risk ergonomic reviews with cross-functional teams including Safety, Product Design, and Industrial Engineering
Evaluate and document ergonomic risk factors across tools, processes, and workstations
Utilize digital human modeling tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, JACK, and Ergo Web
Support Electrical Connector Reviews (ECR), Joint Connector Reviews (JCR), supplier run-offs, and plant launch activities
Identify and implement ergonomic improvements through benchmarking and best practices
Contribute to development and refinement of ergonomic engineering standards
Participate in global ergonomic and manufacturing engineering meetings Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in ergonomics and manufacturing environments
Experience conducting ergonomic analysis and industrial engineering studies
Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills
Experience working in cross-functional, team-based engineering environments
Proficiency with engineering tools and computer-based analysis systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, Process Simulate, or Ergo Web
Experience in automotive or battery manufacturing environments
Ability to work in hybrid engineering and plant-based settings
