Packaging Engineer Location:
Thousand Oaks, California (Hybrid)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an engineering professional to support the design, qualification, and implementation of primary and secondary packaging components and related systems. Our team values strong organizational, project management, and technical problem-solving skills to ensure successful lifecycle management and commercial support within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Execute the design, qualification, and implementation of primary and secondary packaging components and associated systems including documentation, equipment, and processes. Conduct testing and evaluation to recommend and select packaging materials, including writing test protocols and supporting technical reports justifying material and component selection. Develop technical specifications, create and modify engineering drawings, and support the preparation of artwork templates using relevant software applications such as AutoCAD or Illustrator. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in line trials, and contribute to packaging validation activities for both pre-commercial and commercial activities.
Required:
Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of engineering or scientific experience OR Associate degree and 6 or more years of experience OR high school diploma/GED and 8 or more years of experience. Strong organizational, project management, technical problem-solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills. Professional experience in medical devices, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology settings. Experience working in a laboratory-based environment and ability to work on site 3-4 days per week, including physically moving between buildings as needed.
