Rochester Hills, MI Job description: Work with cross-functional teams to understand and collaborate new or existing manufacturing process objectives and solution strategies. Leverage process and analytical knowledge to determine DES modeling objectives, methodology, assumptions, data collection/analysis, and validation approaches. Based on defined simulation objectives, use sound analytical and logical skills to construct valid DES models to support data-driven process/system design and improvement decision making, Analyze and interpret simulation results. Apply statistical and scientific quantitative data analyses to draw manufacturing system performance conclusions and make performance improvement recommendations. Effectively communicate DES modeling, including but not limited to model approaches, assumptions, input data collection/analysis, and result interpretation/analysis to process/system stakeholders. Deliver simulation findings in a clear and concise manner to influence and drive manufacturing decision making.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, Industrial Engineering, Operational Research, or a related field and 3 years of work experience in Discrete Event Simulation (DES) for manufacturing and operations. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in all the following: Scripting to create customized logics to meet modeling objectives and requirements; Manufacturing processes, specifically connector manufacturing processes and systems; Probability distribution and data processing Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in all the following: Translating business and operational objectives to Discrete Event Simulation modeling objectives, develop DES modeling architecture, and determine simulation output framework; Coding using C++, Python, or similar programming languages; Discrete Event Simulation software packages used in Flexsim; and Plant operations and supply chain management. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week. International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 10%.
