Job Description

MHSI is a privately held company based in Rochester Hills, MI, supporting manufacturing, program management, data management, and design for our customers in Logistics and Logistics related activities. These activities include the management and design of Facilities, Material Handling, Material Flow, and Industrial Engineering related activities. MHSI's customers include Automotive, Automotive Tier One's, and Heavy Manufacturing. MHSI's personnel work as an extension for the customer. This is a hybrid position with days working from home, at our Rochester Hills office, visiting customer locations, and typically one day per week at our customer location in Toledo, Ohio. Job Functions Lead the development process for assigning part packaging solutions for new automotive vehicle assembly (part packaging / transport containers) which includes: Deliver cost savings and operational efficiencies through innovative packaging solutions and process improvements. Manage project rack design, build, fabrication, and fixturing, ensuring alignment with automation, ergonomics, and production requirements. Ability to offset additional manpower requirements through unique skill sets that streamline workflows and reduce rework, without impacting project budgets. Proven capability to drive efficiencies and maintain quality standards across multiple stakeholders, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and packaging fabricators. Provide complete and accurate tracking on the current status for all work-in-progress. Review actual packaged parts and packaging materials including on-site at the assembly plant and/or supplier facilities. Communication internally and externally with both the customer and supplier base. Manage part/packaging change requirements during launch cycle. Attend and conduct audits at assembly plant during and after new vehicle launch activities. Identify and relay issues and exceptions to management. Review changes and/or new proposals with core team members. Requirements Bachelor's Degree Engineering, or related industry experience will be considered. Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a project engineer in manufacturing. Rack design and fabrication expertise. Prototype development and dimensional validation. CAD model review and technical documentation. Packaging optimization and standardization. On-site technical support and issue resolution. Cost-saving initiative implementation across OEM programs. Experience in the automotive material handling/packaging industry a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Power Point. Effective written and oral communication skills. Follow-up and good interface skills. Ability to multi-task, switching between multiple projects over the course of a work day. Up to 50% local day trip travel (Metro Detroit/SE Michigan/Toledo), must have vehicle. Our customer requires a standard drug screening test for all employees that will be visiting their facilities and this will be done as part of the post job offer employment process.
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
