Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer Job Description This Supplier Quality Engineer role focuses on ensuring that external suppliers, distributors, and third-party logistics providers consistently deliver high-quality parts, materials, and services. You will establish and maintain the Approved Supplier List, negotiate and manage quality agreements, and drive a robust audit and monitoring program. The position plays a key role in both pre-market and post-market supplier quality, partnering closely with distribution, component engineering, and other cross-functional teams to prevent defects and support the delivery of reliable, compliant products to customers. Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Identify, establish, and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL) for distributors and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). Negotiate, implement, and maintain quality agreements with suppliers, distributors, and 3PLs to clearly define quality expectations and responsibilities. Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services that meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Qualify new and existing suppliers according to company procedures and standards, including participation in or administration of a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness. Monitor supplier-provided parts and materials from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle to ensure ongoing compliance with specifications and quality requirements. Identify, communicate, and resolve supplier-related issues as they arise through the Supplier Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process. Develop, prioritize, and maintain an audit schedule to ensure designated suppliers are audited regularly for compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards. Essential Skills Proven experience in supplier quality engineering, with a focus on managing and qualifying suppliers, distributors, and third-party logistics providers. Hands-on experience establishing and maintaining an Approved Supplier List (ASL). Experience working with suppliers in the EMEA region and understanding of regional considerations for supplier and distribution quality. Strong knowledge of supplier quality processes, including supplier qualification, receiving inspection, and Certified Supplier Programs. Experience supporting validation and qualification activities with suppliers and distribution partners. Familiarity with ISO 13485 or similar medical device quality management system standards. ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification or membership, or equivalent professional quality credential. Training or certification in Six Sigma or similar structured problem-solving and process improvement methodologies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Northridge, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
