Job Description:
Truck & Wheel Group, a leading multinational company in the logistics sector with a strong global presence, is currently seeking a Packaging Engineer for its facility in Greer, South Carolina. We are looking for proactive professionals eager to advance their careers within a highly competitive environment. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following key areas, among others:
Technical Design:
Develop and approve specialized packaging and container designs for automotive components using CATIA or similar CAD software.
Freight Optimization:
Calculate and improve part density per container to reduce Cost Per Unit (CPU) and maximize warehouse footprint.
Quality Validation:
Execute vibration, impact, and stack testing to guarantee part integrity during domestic and international transit.
Line-Side Integration:
Design material presentation at the assembly line following strict ergonomics and automation (AGV) compatibility standards.
Loop Management:
Define and manage returnable packaging inventory and float levels between suppliers and the manufacturing plant.
Sustainability:
Implement initiatives to reduce waste and eliminate single-use plastics within the supply chain. To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Packaging Engineering.
Experience:
1+ years in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1).
Software:
Proficiency in CAD (CATIA/SolidWorks/AutoCad)
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of industrial packaging standards,
