Packaging Engineer Northline Talent Fort Worth, TX Job Details Full-time $82,000 - $110,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications 3D CAD modeling Engineering testing Six Sigma Bachelor's degree Continuous improvement Packaging (food) Packaging design Manufacturing Plastics Lean manufacturing Engineering validation Full Job Description About the Role We are looking for a Packaging Engineer to design, qualify, and continuously improve primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging across our product portfolio. You will own packaging specifications, drive cost reduction and sustainability initiatives, and ensure packaging performs across the full supply chain from line fill to retail shelf or end-customer. Key Responsibilities Design and validate primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or ArtiosCAD Conduct ISTA, ASTM, and customer-specific transit and drop testing; document results and corrective actions Own packaging specifications, BOMs, and supplier qualification Lead cost reduction projects: lightweighting, material substitution, dunnage redesign, returnable container conversion Drive sustainability initiatives in support of EPR (extended producer responsibility) compliance, mono-material conversion, and PCR (post-consumer recycled) content goals Support new product introduction (NPI) from concept through launch Troubleshoot packaging line issues fill, seal, label, case-pack in partnership with operations and maintenance Maintain compliance with
FDA / GMP / ISO 15378 / IATF 16949
standards as applicable Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field At least 2 years of hands-on packaging engineering experience in food/beverage, medical device, automotive, or consumer goods manufacturing Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD, or equivalent CAD software Working knowledge of corrugated, flexible, rigid plastic, foam, and returnable packaging systems Experience with ISTA test protocols, ASTM standards, and packaging validation Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification preferred

$82,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
