This role drives quality assurance and yield improvements across our AI server hardware supply chain in Austin. You'll partner with suppliers to resolve technical issues and validate component reliability for next-gen data centers. Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Supplier Quality Engineer (0-3 years) to join our AI Server Hardware team. In this role, you will help qualify new suppliers, monitor the quality of high-performance components (GPUs, PCBs, power supplies), and drive root-cause analysis. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineering and supply chain teams to ensure our AI infrastructure meets top-tier reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities Component Qualification:
Assist in evaluating and onboarding new suppliers for AI server sub-assemblies, PCBs, and electro-mechanical parts.
Failure Analysis:
Lead or support 8D, 5-Why, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processes for supplier-related component failures.
Audits & Metrics:
Help conduct supplier process audits and track key quality metrics (Defective Parts Per Million - PPM, On-Time Delivery).
Process Improvements:
Monitor production lines to identify areas for continuous improvement and defect prevention.
Documentation:
Review and approve supplier PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions, Quality Management System (QMS) records, and inspection reports.
Qualifications Education:
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
Experience:
0-3 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Supplier Engineering. (Internships and co-ops highly valued).
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and root cause problem-solving.
Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with server manufacturing, high-density PCBAs, or data center hardware architectures is a major plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
