Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Application Packaging Engineer will be responsible for creating, customizing, and maintaining MSI packages and performing application virtualization, specifically AppV sequencing. This role involves repackaging legacy installers into standardized formats, modifying MSI tables, and resolving installation conflicts. The engineer will also support application deployment via SCCM/MECM, provide L3 support for packaging and deployment issues, develop automation scripts, and maintain documentation and packaging standards. Key Responsibilities
  • Create, customize, and maintain MSI packages using InstallShield, AdminStudio, Wise, and WiX.
  • Perform AppV sequencing 5x and application virtualization.
  • Repackage EXE/legacy installers into standardized MSI/AppV formats.
  • Modify MSI tables, transforms (MST), and custom actions using Orca.
  • Test installation, upgrade, and uninstallation processes, and resolve conflicts.
  • Support application deployment via
SCCM/MECM.
  • Troubleshoot packaging and deployment issues, providing L3 support.
  • Develop automation using PowerShell and VBScript.
  • Maintain documentation and packaging standards. Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience in MSI Packaging.
  • Strong hands-on experience in AppV.
  • Strong hands-on experience in
SCCM/MECM
application deployment.
  • Strong hands-on experience in PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience in Windows 10/11 and Server environments.
  • Experience with Application Architecture.
  • Experience with Windows Server.
  • Experience with AppV. Preferred Qualifications
  • Windows MSIX.
  • Intune packaging.
  • Citrix VDI exposure.
  • ITIL awareness.
