Controls & Automation Location:
Houston, TX 77042 Pay:
$60/hour We are seeking an experienced Industrial I&E Engineer to support complex industrial automation, instrumentation, and controls projects in Houston, TX. This temporary contract role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in PLC systems, industrial controls, commissioning, electrical design, and instrumentation engineering. Key Responsibilities Develop control strategies, functional specifications, and sequence of operations documentation Support industrial controls engineering including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and network integration Review control panel designs, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical drawings Assist with instrumentation selection including pressure, flow, level, temperature, and control valve devices Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, startup, and loop checks Troubleshoot industrial control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment Coordinate with electrical designers, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project execution Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, and industrial control standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of industrial controls or engineering experience Strong background in PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, process controls, and instrumentation Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and loop sheets Knowledge of Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Modbus, HART, and industrial networking systems Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities Strong troubleshooting and communication skills Experience with hydronic controls, refrigeration systems, or modular plant construction preferred Employee Benefits Medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance 401(k) Retirement Savings Plans Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Commuter/Parking Accounts People Perks Health Savings Account (HSA) AD & D Insurance If you are an experienced Controls and Instrumentation Engineer looking for your next industrial engineering opportunity, click "".
