United Valve, a leading provider of valve repair, modification and testing services, is seeking a mechanical engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. Successful candidates will use prior engineering skills relevant to the valve industry to assist both the Engineering and Production Departments with testing, design, project management and overall improvements in safety and production efficiency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist both engineering testing and production testing departments in areas including, but not limited to, hydro/pressure testing, engineering services (fugitive emissions, fire, cryogenic, RP 591) and NDT Provide engineering expertise and support through designing, reverse engineering, failure analysis, technical document writing, sales quotations, production scheduling and overall engineering related shop improvements Help plan, implement and document major turnaround projects Help plan, implement and document smaller projects requiring special attention and oversight from higher levels of management Work with production, engineering and purchasing to efficiently complete projects on time and under budget while providing quality products Assist both customers and UV employees with the tools necessary to complete jobs and understand the work being performed Rework and implement new production procedures to ensure compliance with the latest valve standards defined in API, MSS and ISO documents Actively participate in insuring standards are up to date and all safety factors are compliant. Education and/orExperience:
Degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, industrial engineering or other engineering related degree Minimum 2-5 years' experience in valve design and/or pressure vessels Proficiency in CAD Experience in Inventor a plus Strong mechanical aptitude Highly Organized Strong attention to detail Dedication to quality workmanship Dedication to a safe work environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with pneumatic and electric actuators a plusPhysical Demands and Qualifications:
• Must be able to move and or lift parts up to 30 pounds • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, lift and carryCompany Overview:
