Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Continuously analyze assembly and inspection processes to identify areas for improvements, cost reduction, and improved quality/reliability.
  • Develop and implement assembly and inspection fixtures for cost reduction and cycle time improvements.
  • Evaluation and disposition of NCR's and deviation requests.
  • Work with the Sustaining Engineering team to develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Work with the Sustaining Engineering team for root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
  • Work with the Sustaining Engineering team to perform Root Cause Analysis for failures using tools such as 5-Why Analysis, TapRoot Investigation, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.
  • Ensure the operational compliance of Quality Control Procedures.
  • Perform Fist Article Inspections prior to product launch release.
  • Develop and maintain product line quality plans that include inspection criteria, testing parameters, inspection & testing frequencies and material validation.
  • Develop quality controls within the supply chain to ensure they are meeting customer expectations.
  • Work with suppliers and assist engineering in maintaining product control.
  • Verify product line testing data meets Engineering requirements and Customer reuse requirements.
  • Create and maintain inspection programs for quality inspection equipment such as CMMs, 3D scanners, and optical profilometers. Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree with a preference for Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical degree.
  • Strong technical and communication skills with the ability to inspire and partner with a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and manufacturing staff.
  • Understanding of CNC milling & lathe processes.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software (Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault a plus).
  • Knowledge of basic use of Quality Control tools (calipers, micrometers, Optical Comparator, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience working with suppliers and/or distributors in an
ISO 9001 QMS
environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality in manufacturing operations.
  • Dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment with a commitment to build a safety culture with strict safety protocols. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with plastics molding, rubber and composite materials.
  • Understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supervising equipment and material procurement functions plus maintenance, and layout.
  • Ability to identify and share training and development opportunities for key staff to build and improve skills for the operations teams to grow with the company.
