The Remote Operations Technician is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing rod-pump well performance through remote surveillance and advanced production analytics. This role supports field operations by ensuring data accuracy, improving system reliability, and identifying opportunities to enhance production efficiency in alignment with company engineering and production standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to Monitor and analyze rod-pumped wells on a daily basis, identifying opportunities to improve production and optimize performance Support Remote Operations leadership and field teams with automation applications in accordance with company standards and industry best practices Create, maintain, and troubleshoot XSPOC configurations and related artificial lift systems for both new and existing wells Identify inefficient pumping conditions, diagnose root causes, and recommend and implement corrective actions Respond to well and equipment failures by coordinating with field personnel to minimize downtime and restore production Analyze well performance data, including dynagraphs, Echometer data, and POC data, and provide recommendations to Engineering and Operations teams Support the design, maintenance, and documentation of field communications, automation systems, and production monitoring tools Promote equipment reliability by participating in failure analysis reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Provide coverage and support for other Remote Operations Technicians, including during absences or increased operational demand
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3+) years of experience with XSPOC, RodStar, dynagraph interpretation, VSDs, and POCs. Proficiency in WellView and production data management systems. Experience working within an upstream oil and gas E&P environment. Ability to work non-traditional hours and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Willingness to travel occasionally to field locations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams). Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools such as Spotfire.
