Teradyne, Inc. seeks Customer Production Support Engineer in Plano, TX. Support Teradynes automated test equipment (ATE) used in semiconductor manufacturing. Review customer bug reports & feature requests by looking at how the testers electronic modules behave including signal timing, measurement accuracy, power delivery, & digital & analog responses, which involves reproducing the issue on the actual tester, checking logs, reviewing waveforms, & determining whether the problem is coming from hardware, firmware, software, or the loadboard circuitry. Troubleshoot failures in the testers electronic components, including pin electronics, power supplies, timing generators, & analog & digital measurement units. Troubleshoot system-level issues such as Operating System (OS) behavior, diagnostic tool failures, & tester-to-handler communication using standard engineering methods like root-cause analysis, FMEA, & TQM tools. Help develop or recommend engineering solutions including hardware configuration changes, firmware updates, adjustments to signal routing, or modifications to improve reliability & throughput & validate changes through electrical characterization, signal-integrity checks, & system performance testing. Evaluate whether proposed fixes or feature requests are technically feasible & compatible with the existing tester architecture including reviewing performance data, capacity limits, & cost & benefit tradeoffs. Work closely with Product Support, Sustaining Engineering, Software Engineering, & customer Test Technology Managers to review system behavior, discuss engineering options, & plan modifications or improvements. Prepare technical summaries, failure analysis reports, system performance updates, & customer-facing documentation including circuit-level observations, proposed solutions, & action plans. Supervise Production Support Engineers & provide technical guidance, reviewing progress, & managing escalations. Review Tester Support Agreements for accuracy of the installation base & apply engineering cost-benefit analysis to determine the right level of service coverage. Analyze and evaluate customer bug and feature requests, perform technical assessments, and prepare documentation. Summarize engineering feedback and system status to customers and account management. Execute production technical support activities, troubleshoot tester hardware/software issues. Participate in technical meetings to review platform issues and define improvement plans. Deliver technical aspects of Global Customer Services by applying engineering solutions to improve reliability and performance. Align Global Customer Service offerings with customer needs through system analysis and technical modifications. Prepare technical update meetings with customers, presenting engineering action items. Prepare customer business update meetings to set expectations and present improvement plans. Conduct customer satisfaction assessments, document technical issues, and implement corrective actions. Confer with Test Technology Managers and Account Managers to propose engineering solutions or design modifications considering environment, cost, and quality. Supervise subordinate Production Support Engineers and assign technical tasks and review progress. Review Tester Support Agreements and apply engineering cost benefit analysis to optimize resource allocation. The position supervises 3 subordinate employees in the roles of: Customer Production Support Engineer and Service Engineer. Requires a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 10 years of related ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) industry experience. Experience to include 5 years of experience with all of the following: 1. Product Support. 2. conducting technical analysis and discussions with customers to understand product requirements, identify bugs and feature requests, and communicate detailed feedback to internal engineering teams. 3. acting as a liaison between customers and engineering summarizing and presenting technical requirements, status updates, and solution paths. 4. providing hands-on engineering support for debugging, troubleshooting and resolving PCFD issues and system level issues across the device production life cycle. 5. supporting production automation and high-volume manufacturing environments through scalable engineering solutions. 6. performing root cause analysis and implementing product improvements based on customer feedback.
