Job Description

Job Summary Clark's Lumber & Millwork Inc. is seeking a career-oriented Drafting Engineer / Microvellum Engineer to join our growing commercial millwork team. This is a more advanced drafting and engineering role for someone who can take commercial millwork projects from drawings and specifications into accurate, production-ready engineering. The right candidate must have strong drafting skills and hands-on Microvellum experience. Drafting and Microvellum ability are required for this position. Candidates should be prepared to complete a drafting and/or Microvellum skills test as part of the hiring process. What You Will Do
  • Engineer commercial millwork, casework, cabinetry, counters, panels, and related components for production.
  • Use Microvellum to develop accurate project engineering, product data, machining information, and production-ready output.
  • Create and review shop drawings, layouts, details, sections, and production documents.
  • Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, field dimensions, RFIs, and approved submittals.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, CNC/shop staff, and installers to resolve design and production questions.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, buildable drawings and engineering packages that support fabrication and installation.
  • Revise drawings and engineering based on redlines, field conditions, production feedback, and project changes.
  • Help improve drafting standards, engineering processes, Microvellum libraries, and production efficiency. Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Microvellum is required.
  • Strong drafting ability in commercial millwork, architectural millwork, cabinetry, casework, or related construction fields.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, BricsCAD or similar drafting software.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, details, and field dimensions.
  • Understanding of how drawings and engineering translate into shop fabrication and installation.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a production-focused environment.
  • Willingness to complete a drafting and/or Microvellum skills test during the hiring process. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience engineering commercial millwork projects from approved drawings through production.
  • Experience with CNC output, cut lists, machining, material optimization, and production workflows.
  • Knowledge of AWI standards and commercial millwork construction methods.
  • Experience maintaining or improving Microvellum libraries, product standards, or engineering templates.
  • Experience coordinating directly with shop, field, and project management teams. Who We Are Looking For

Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
