Job Description

Controls Engineer responsible for designing industrial facility control systems, PLC-based systems, instrumentation, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, toxic gas monitoring, and SCADA systems. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university Engineer in Training certification 6+ years of experience in industrial control systems engineering and design Working knowledge of PLC systems Working knowledge of industrial networks Working knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial control systems Working knowledge of motor control and power distribution systems Experience designing PLC-based systems, including: Allen-Bradley Schneider Modicon Siemens Understanding of national codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and UL 508A 2+ years of experience with semiconductor manufacturing tools, including design, installation, or cleanroom use Familiarity with BIM and CAD platforms, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Experience with project scheduling and delivery tools Industrial design experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, data centers, or similar environments Preferred Skills Semiconductor facility control systems experience Cleanroom design or installation experience Experience with SCADA system design Experience with toxic gas monitoring systems Experience with chemical control systems Experience preparing P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams Experience developing Sequence of Operation documents Experience reviewing vendor submittals and design deliverables Experience supporting proposals, budgets, and schedules Job Responsibilities Participate in development of proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work Design facility control systems Design fire alarm systems Design chemical control systems Design toxic gas monitoring systems Design SCADA systems Develop P&IDs, loop drawings, and detailed wiring diagrams Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves Prepare instrument, control device, and valve data sheets Review vendor submittals for compliance with requirements, codes, and standards Review design deliverables for compliance with requirements, codes, and standards Develop Sequence of Operation documents Participate in technical presentations with clients and internal teams Participate in business presentations with clients and internal teams Coordinate control system design work with other engineering disciplines Support industrial control system design for semiconductor, pharmaceutical, data center, and similar facility environments
