Job Title:
Industrial Engineer Job Description This Industrial Engineer role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, supporting production operations in real time, and driving continuous improvement across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will spend significant time on the production floor, partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows, material flow, and plant layout while supporting new product introductions and process changes. Responsibilities Spend significant time on the production floor supporting operations and troubleshooting issues in real time. Analyze and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and material flow to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct time studies and process observations to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Assist in creating and updating standard work instructions, routings, and process documentation to ensure consistency and quality. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to implement process changes and improvements. Help track and analyze key performance metrics such as efficiency, downtime, scrap, and throughput to drive data-based decisions. Assist in layout optimization, line balancing, and workstation design to improve productivity and ergonomics. Participate in and support lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and other continuous improvement activities. Provide hands-on support during new product introductions and process changes to ensure smooth integration into existing operations. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. Industrial engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing environments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with process improvement, including time studies, process mapping, and workflow optimization. Ability to analyze and improve plant layouts, line balancing, and workstation design. Understanding of material flow and process flow diagrams. Capability to track, interpret, and act on key performance metrics such as efficiency, downtime, scrap, and throughput. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with production, quality, and maintenance teams. For one position, 3-5 years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience; other roles may be suitable for entry-level candidates. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is beneficial. Experience supporting new product introductions and process changes in a production environment. Hands-on experience with 5S and other lean tools in a manufacturing setting. Ability to create clear standard work instructions, routings, and process documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset. Comfort working on the production floor and engaging directly with operators and supervisors. Work Environment The role is based in a very clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility that includes a welding shop at the back, with work flowing to the front before shipment. The site features an updated, modern cafeteria and a well-equipped gym that all employees can use, with health insurance incentives available for logging gym time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $50.48/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
