Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Requirement AnalysisAnalyze customer technical requirements to define process objectives, equipment needs, throughput targets, and system constraints.

Partner with Sales to shape solutions that solve real manufacturing problems while supporting commercial goals.

Solution Development and Proposal CreationDevelop complete sales proposals, including:

Technical and commercial documentation2D and 3D sales drawings3D renderings and simulationsProcess flow diagrams and equipment layoutsCapacity studies and bottleneck analysesEngineering and Cost AnalysisEstimate system and equipment costs using historical data, Excel models, and collaboration with engineering, controls, automation, and manufacturing teams.

Evaluate feasibility, risk, and cost drivers early to strengthen proposal accuracy.

Technical DocumentationCreate clear process descriptions, technical specifications, and project requirements that define scope for both customers and internal teams.

Presentation and CommunicationPresent proposed solutions to customers and internal stakeholders in virtual and in-person settings.

Support the Sales team during customer discussions by explaining system design, performance, and assumptions.

Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with engineering, operations, and manufacturing to ensure proposed solutions align with Globe's capabilities and execution standards.

Engineering and operations teams can execute what is sold with minimal rework.

Skills and ExperienceTechnical SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.

Experience or working proficiency with:

AutoCAD, Inventor, or Factory Design UtilitiesSolidWorks experience is also relevantExcel for cost modeling and process analysisWord for technical documentationExperience developing process flows, layout concepts, capacity studies, and bottleneck analyses preferred.

Ability to create both technical drawings and visually polished sales renderings strongly preferred.

Communication and Work StyleAbility to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with Sales, Engineering, and Operations.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-definition and research skills.

Preferred QualificationsAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in one or more of the following industries:

Building Products Manufacturing including wood-based, engineered wood, or cementitious productsPulp and PaperAdvanced Composites for aerospace, automotive, or infrastructure marketsFamiliarity with industrial automation, PLC controls, and Fanuc robotics is a plus.

Prior experience in applications engineering, technical sales, or similar customer-facing engineering roles strongly preferred.
