Job Description

Quality Engineer Location:
Milwaukee, WI Duration:
Full-time About the job The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving the Quality Management System (QMS) within our Milwaukee PCB fabrication facility. This role ensures compliance with
AS9100D, ISO
9001, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements (ITAR, DFARS, etc.), while driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing. This is a hands-on position requiring regular interaction with production, lab operations, CAM, and management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality System & Compliance Maintain compliance with
AS9100D, ISO
9001, and internal QMS procedures Support internal and external audits (customer, certification, regulatory) Assist with management review preparation and KPI reporting Maintain and update SOPs, work instructions, and control plans Ensure traceability and documentation integrity per
ITAR/DFARS
requirements 2. Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) Lead root cause investigations (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto analysis) Manage internal CARs, supplier CARs, and customer corrective actions Verify effectiveness of corrective actions Track trends in nonconformances and drive systemic improvements 3. SPC & Process Control Implement and monitor SPC programs on critical processes (drill, plating, imaging, lamination, etch, etc.) Calculate and analyze Cp/Cpk for CTQ characteristics Support control plan development and process capability improvements Partner with production to reduce variation and scrap 4. Manufacturing Support Provide daily floor support for quality-related issues Review first article inspections (FAIs) and customer-specific requirements Assist with cross-section analysis, plating thickness verification, and lab data review Disposition nonconforming material (MRB participation) 5. Supplier & Customer Quality Support supplier performance monitoring and scorecards Review incoming inspection trends Participate in customer quality calls and audits Assist Sales/Engineering in interpreting quality requirements for new programs 6. Continuous Improvement Drive Lean / Six Sigma initiatives Analyze scrap, yield, and rework data Improve documentation efficiency and digital quality records Identify cost-of-poor-quality (COPQ) reduction opportunities Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality (PCB fabrication preferred) Experience with SPC, Cp/Cpk, and statistical analysis Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Excel and data analysis Preferred Qualifications Experience in PCB fabrication or electronics manufacturing Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, etc.) Working knowledge of AS9100 or
ISO 9001
Knowledge of plating chemistry or wet process controls Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) Audit experience (internal auditor training)
Pay:
$82,542.91 - $99,406.51 per year
