Job Description
Job Summary:
The Reliability & CI Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing the production processes of food products. This position involves designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing systems to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production. The Reliability & CI Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and comply with regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:
Develop and implement efficient food processing techniques and systems. Analyze current production processes and identify areas for improvement. Design and modify equipment and processes to enhance production efficiency and product quality.Quality Control and Compliance:
Ensure all processes adhere to food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., FDA, USDA). Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure product quality and safety. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.Project Management:
Lead or participate in projects related to process improvements, new product introductions, and facility upgrades. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., R&D, Quality Assurance, Maintenance) to ensure project success. Manage budgets and timelines for engineering projects as required.Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
Identify and resolve technical issues related to food processing equipment and systems. Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance. Implement and monitor control systems to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare detailed reports on process performance, project outcomes, and improvement initiatives. Present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.Training and Support:
Provide technical support and training to production staff on new processes and equipment. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. 5-10 years of experience in food processing or a related industrial engineering role. Strong understanding of food processing technologies, equipment, and industry regulations. Proven experience in process optimization, project management, and quality control. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., MS Excel, SAP, or similar).Preferred Skills:
Experience with specific food processing technology or equipment relevant to the company. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with HACCP and other food safety management systems.Work Environment:
This position may require occasional travel to production facilities, supplier sites, or other company locations. The role may involve working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and varying temperatures.
