Perform routine maintenance such as inspecting drives, motors, and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and doing other preventive maintenance actions. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Repair machines and equipment using tools. Maintain functioning of company equipment. Work with field crew to provide proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of company equipment. Order parts, supplies, and equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct problems checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Design new equipment to aid in the repair and maintenance of machines, and mechanical equipment. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts. Estimate costs to repair machinery and equipment. Dismantle machines, equipment, and devices to access and remove defective parts. Maintain, repair, and replace any defective equipment. Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements or need for new parts.
