Starting wage for the Engineering Technician or Sr. Engineering Technician is $29.80 - $40.60 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities:
Engineering Technician The Engineering Technician reviews construction plans and conducts entry level field investigations of proposed development projects. The incumbent performs reviews of street improvement plans and storm drainage plans and calculations for small development projects and provides oral and written communication of results. Sr. Engineering Technician The Engineering Technician reviews large scale construction plans providing dedication to new roadways and conducts field investigations of proposed development projects with multiple phases. The incumbent performs reviews of street improvement plans and storm drainage plans and calculations for large development projects, provides oral and written communication of results, and assists with technical questions regarding right-of-way ownership, and plotting meters and bounds of legal descriptions and interpreting of records of surveys. Manages multiple multi-phase development projects including easements, agreements, right-of-way dedication and surety requirements. Advises design professionals of District requirements and provides technical support to Engineering Technicians.
Qualifications:
Engineering Technician The ability to read civil plans is required. A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field is a plus. Previous development review experience is preferred but not required. The position requires a working knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices and the ability to apply policies and standards to documents and plans. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu or other plan review and/or mapping software is a plus. A valid Idaho driver's license is required. Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable. Sr. Engineering Technician The ability to read civil plans is required. A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field is a plus. Previous development review experience is required. Considerable knowledge of district polices and standards for roads, stormwater, and developments. The position requires a considerable knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and practices and the ability to apply policies and standards to documents and plans. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu or other plan review and/or mapping software. A valid Idaho driver's license is required. Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be acceptable.
