Job Title:
Industrial Engineer Technician Job Description We are seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer Technician with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with 0-1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Responsibilities Perform time studies to demonstrate expected output for operations, cost recovery systems, and factory layouts. Support drafting needs for engineering projects and documentation, including Assembly Build Instructions, Specific Function Training, and Equipment Operating Instructions. Create and update CAD layouts for facilities and manufacturing processes. Assist engineers with projects and core functions such as line layouts, capacity models, and ergonomics. Focus initially on reducing the backlog of workstation and cart builds at the site. Support the Industrial Engineering team in improving communication, tracking, and process management for workstation and cart-related tasks. Essential Skills Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and theory. Ability to perform time studies and support Lean projects. Proficiency in creating and updating CAD layouts. Familiarity with line layouts, capacity planning, and continuous improvement methodologies. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical experience, even if hobby-based, such as working on cars, DIY projects, or using hand/power tools. Desire to master processes and develop within the Industrial Technician role. Work Environment This position is based in a medical device systems manufacturing assembly environment. All parts and materials are sourced from external suppliers, with several manufacturing lines dedicated to building medical devices. The role involves working closely with four other Industrial Engineers and reporting to the Industrial Engineering Supervisor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverwoods, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.50/hr.
