WHAT DOES A FILL PLANT TECHNICIAN DO?
As an Oxygen Fill Plant Technician at HME Specialists in Albuquerque, you will play a vital role in the safe filling, inspection, and maintenance of medical oxygen cylinders and related equipment. Your responsibilities will include filling cylinders according to established procedures and safety regulations while ensuring compliance with FDA, DOT, and OSHA standards. You will conduct thorough inspections for damage, leaks, and proper labeling, operate essential plant equipment, and maintain accurate records for quality checks and inventory. Monitoring oxygen purity levels and performing routine quality assurance testing will also be critical to your role. Additionally, you will maintain a clean, organized workspace and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly. A basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills are essential for addressing equipment malfunctions. Furthermore, a strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are critical, as the technician will need to read and follow written procedures and regulations meticulously. Candidates must also be adaptable to work in varying temperatures and industrial environments, ensuring that both quality and safety standards are upheld. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Ability to lift and move cylinders weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance or equipment.
