We are searching for a candidate that is local to the area and is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team! Sofidel Tissue is a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, one of the leading manufacturers of paper for hygienic and domestic use worldwide.
Responsibilities:
This individual will contribute their professional and technical knowledge in order to increase the effectiveness of our operating systems, enhance the quality of our products, and identify more cost-effective ways to achieve these objectives while lowering expenses. This individual will perform maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, avoid mechanical failure, and modify, replace, and repair parts and components as needed to keep the plant running safely and effectively. Enter work orders into the appropriate computer systems, monitor required work, and keep track of parts in stock. Carry out expert upkeep and repairs on a variety of mechanical and physical structures. working from sketches, blueprints, and drawings. Determine the priority for the planned equipment shutdown by performing preventative routine maintenance, executing diagnostics, replacing parts, and testing equipment operations. Examine procedures for their relevance and evaluate the suitability of engineering equipment. Examine mechanical equipment to identify potential problems and participate in process improvement efforts to identify inefficiencies and design flaws. Collaborate with other team members as necessary to resolve problems and determine the root cause. Recommend improvements and make mechanical adjustments. Manage and collaborate with vendors and contractors to monitor and enhance output in order to advance our technology and provide better products and services while maintaining plant safety. Perform or assist with operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements. Inform management of any unusual equipment or operational issues as well as the requirement for additional materials and supplies. Keep the work area clean and organized while following safety protocols and equipment operating instructions to maintain a safe working environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
An associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school; or high school diploma or equivalent, and minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field is preferred. Excellent communication, analytical, documentation, and computer skills required Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting experience is required. Experience in welding and machining is preferred.
