JOB SUMMARY
Primary functions are to safely maintain and service the concrete batch plants and make needed repairs when they become necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Travel to various plants to make necessary repairs Operate and drive light and heavy equipment loader, bobcat and backhoe, forklift, manlift, safely and efficiently Making necessary plumbing, pneumatic, and electrical repairs. Follow all company policies and
OSHA/MSHA
regulations for safe working procedures Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment; refer major problems to the supervisor Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/education/Skill Class B License CDL with air brakes Must be able to perform plant inspections without direct supervision. Must be able to maintain maintenance records. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to do plant repairs. Experienced and proficient to make necessary cuts with a cutting torch and to make necessary welds with a welder. Must be able to read, write and figure basic mathematical calculations Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction. Experienced and proficient in basic mechanical troubleshooting. Concrete Batching experience. Experienced in batch plant operating systems, material handling, pneumatics, plumbing, and electrical Good safety and driving records. Must be able to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends as necessary.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to operate a truck crane. Ability to operate a bucket truck/Manlift. Ability to fabricate repair parts independent of blueprints.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100lbs. of weight frequently Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and climb ladders Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather conditions. Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces Ability to work at heights up to but not limited to 70 feet.
