Job Description

Job Overview Cator Ruma & Associates is a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design. We deliver innovative solutions across healthcare, education, government, commercial, and institutional sectors — with a proven track record of designing some of the region's most advanced hospitals, laboratories, government, K-12 and higher education facilities. CRA is seeking a Mechanical or Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Salt Lake City Office. The ideal candidate will have the desire and capability if of taking a leadership role in the development and expansion of our Salt Lake City Office. They should possess strong knowledge in institutional building mechanical systems, along with a thorough understanding of applicable national codes, standards, and regulations. Proficiency in Revit is a plus, and candidates should either hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license or be actively working toward obtaining one.
The ideal candidate must have:
4-year engineering degree from an accredited institution. 3-7 years of consulting engineering experience. Excellent leadership and communication skills. High level of written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.). Great team player who has the desire and skill to grow the firm. Ideal Candidate:
Works closely with Cator Ruma's Principals in our Colorado, Idaho and Wyoming offices. Participates in business development, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, and pursuit strategy. Contributes towards internal leadership, office growth, staffing, and strategic planning. Provides project oversight, including scope, schedule, and budget management. Interfaces directly with coworkers, clients and end users to understand and document expectations. Leads the project during design and construction. Completes project designs, drawings in 3D Revit and/or 2D CAD, site observations, specifications, calculations, equipment selection and application, and construction administration as necessary. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
