Mechanical Technician Job Description The Mechanical Technician will support industrial manufacturing projects by disassembling, relocating, upgrading, and installing machinery and production systems at customer sites. This role focuses on installing production lines and conveyor systems, as well as fabricating and welding steel components using MIG and stick welding processes. The technician will work on a variety of industrial job sites within driving distance of Lima, OH, contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality mechanical installations. Responsibilities Disassemble and reassemble industrial machinery in manufacturing plants to support relocation, upgrades, and new installations. Relocate and upgrade existing machinery and equipment according to project plans and site requirements. Install production lines and conveyor systems for manufacturing plants, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and functionality. Perform steel fabrication, including cutting, fitting, and preparing materials for assembly and installation. Execute welding tasks using MIG and stick welding processes to fabricate, repair, and install steel structures and components. Use basic hand tools and welding tools safely and effectively for mechanical assembly, adjustment, and repair. Follow technical instructions, site guidelines, and safety procedures while working on industrial job sites. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 years of experience with stick welding in an industrial or construction environment. Hands-on experience with machine installation, including disassembly, reassembly, and alignment of industrial equipment. Experience installing conveyor systems and production lines in manufacturing or industrial settings. Proficiency with MIG welding for steel fabrication and installation work. Work Environment Work takes place at industrial job sites around the Lima, OH area, primarily in manufacturing and plant environments. The typical schedule is first shift, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some variation depending on project needs and site requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lima, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
