Houston, TX Job Details 3 hours ago Qualifications Computer literacy Full Job Description The QC Plant Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of products throughout the production process in a manufacturing environment. This role is the primary responsibility to conduct standardized qualitative & quantitative testing to ensure it meets specification.
DESCRIPTION
Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant. Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition. Spot check at least every two hours of finished product in each of the assigned machines. Perform visual and physical inspections to verify that the products meet design specifications and quality standards. Be present at all line changeovers to validate good specifications on product. Maintain detailed records of inspection, including any defects found or other non-conformities. Collect and deliver retained samples for each new line. Ensure that the construction of the boxes is correct, verify that the product is suitable for labels and packaging to release product. Follow the inspection and packaging procedures according to the work instructions. Verify raw materials are adequate for production. Follow non-conforming procedures to ensure material is quarantined. Communicate findings to the operator to address quality issues, ensuring compliance with established procedures. Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy. Reports on quality and food safety issues to shift lead or supervisor. Ensure that all inspections and procedures adhere to safety regulations and quality control standards. Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
COMPETENCIES
Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Computer skills, including the use of Word and Excel. Basic math and measuring ability. Proficiency in arithmetic operations. Multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Dependable and Punctual. Reliable transportation. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required. Must have the capability to stand for long periods of time. Familiarity with
FSSC 22000
2005 , GMPs , and HACCP are preferred. High School Diploma or
GED. EXPERIENCE
At least 1 year of experience inspecting finished products. Preferred experience in food packaging or processing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to interpret instructions effectively. Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and kneeling.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily located on the manufacturing floor, involving exposure to loud noise, machinery, high temperatures, and chemicals. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
