Role SynopsisThe Plant Operator / Operations Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of Permian Midstream CDP and associated facilities. This role executes day‑to‑day plant operations, responds to abnormal conditions, performs field rounds, applies control of work processes, and supports maintenance, startup, shutdown, and emergency response activities. Operators are accountable for maintaining operational discipline, protecting people and the environment, and ensuring facilities operate within design and regulatory limits.
Key AccountabilitiesOperate and monitor CDP facilities, compression, inlet, processing, tankage, and utilitiesPerform field rounds, inspections, and verification activitiesIdentify abnormal conditions and take timely, disciplined actionExecute startup, shutdown, and normal operating proceduresApply Control of Work processes (energy isolation, permits, task risk assessments)Coordinate with board operators, maintenance, engineering, and contractorsIsolate, verify, and return equipment to service safelyRespond to equipment upsets, alarms, and emergency conditionsParticipate in incident response, investigations, and learning reviewsMaintain accurate operational, production, and environmental documentationUse BPX systems including DeltaV, ARC, SAP, Power Apps, and verification toolsComply with PSM, DOT, OMS, and environmental requirementsEssential Experience and EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years experience in oil & gas, midstream, or industrial operations (preferred)Demonstrated understanding of process safety and operational riskAbility to read and apply P&IDs and operating proceduresExperience with compressors, pumps, valves, and process equipmentStrong communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational disciplinePreferred QualificationsCDP or gas processing experienceDelta V operating platform experienceControl room or board operations experienceFamiliarity with PSM-regulated facilitiesTechnical certifications or prior midstream operator trainingHow much do we pay (Base) $103,000-$121,000. Note that the pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.
