Design Engineer and Drafting Position:
General Position Overview:
The Design Engineer & Drafter is responsible for taking a P&ID or rough draft proposal for a liquid handling skid, creating a 3D model, and from this producing detailed 2D drawings for customer approval and fabrication. The Drafter will be involved in making SolidWorks drawings which may include frame design, pump/motor placement, pipe routing, heat exchangers, filters, strainers, tanks, instrumentation, controls and various other items.Qualifications:
3D Drafting experience is a must - SolidWorks proficiency is a plus. Ability to work calmly under time constraints on multiple projects.Responsibilities:
Work with project managers and Sales Dept to properly design a pump package for a proposed project. Draw, update, and maintain designs. Reviews detailed equipment designs as compared to P&IDs and other design documents Manage multiple complex design projects at the same time. Interact with the Fab Shop team to develop technical concepts, design constraints, materials of construction, manufacturing methods and codes as applicable. Generate an accurate conceptual design within the time schedule that meets technical and commercial requirements. Reviews and understands project requirements (specifications, standards, etc.) to assist in designing the system. Education & Experience Experience and knowledge of 3D design and drafting required. (SolidWorks preferred) A Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Previous fluid system design experience a plus.About The Company:
