Job Summary:
The Assembly Engineer is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role supporting equipment installation, line trials, and product launches at a manufacturing facility in Cullman, Alabama. This position works closely with production, quality, design engineering, maintenance, external vendors, and international (Japan-based) teams to ensure equipment readiness, process stability, and part quality during trials and ramp-up. The ideal candidate is a practical, detail-oriented manufacturing engineer or technical professional who is comfortable working on the production floor, leading trials, and troubleshooting issues in fast-paced launch environments. This role offers direct impact on manufacturing operations, exposure to global engineering collaboration, and opportunities to influence equipment and process performance from installation through steady-state production. Required Skills & Qualifications Must-have qualifications candidates must meet to be considered.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles
  • Experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layouts
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and structured problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating cross-functionally
  • Must be local to the Cullman, AL area or able to commute without relocation assistance Preferred Skills & Qualifications Nice-to-have qualifications that enhance candidacy.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • Technical trade background with strong equipment and assembly experience
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, trials, or production launches
  • Exposure to automation, controls, or advanced manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with external vendors or international engineering teams
  • Continuous improvement or process optimization experience Day-to-Day Responsibilities Key tasks and expectations for the role.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and validation of assembly equipment
  • Plan, schedule, and support line trials and launch activities
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and process-related issues impacting production
  • Ensure equipment readiness, process flow integrity, and part quality during ramp-up
  • Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, design engineering, and contractors
  • Collaborate with Japan-based teams on equipment build, delivery, and launch readiness
  • Support equipment layout development and manufacturing process flow improvements Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions associated with the job may include standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods; working on the production floor; and occasional lifting of up to 25-50 lbs.
Work may be performed in manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required based on operational needs.
