Join our team as a Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in driving equipment reliability, improving process stability, and advancing operational excellence in a high-volume manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll own your production area from a technical standpoint—leading troubleshooting efforts, implementing sustainable solutions, and partnering cross-functionally to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. You'll also have the opportunity to influence new product launches and drive meaningful continuous improvement initiatives. Position Process Improvement Engineer Location USA, Decatur, AL How You'll Create Possibilities Own Equipment & Drive Performance Serve as the technical owner for all equipment and tooling within your assigned production area Lead hands-on troubleshooting and support for equipment and process issues Partner closely with maintenance and operations teams to restore and improve performance Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Identify and implement equipment and tooling improvements Support new equipment specifications, reviews, and commissioning Ensure preventive maintenance strategies are effective and executed to maximize uptime Maintain calibration compliance and manage critical tooling and spare parts Champion Safety & Compliance Collaborate with operations leadership to identify and implement safety improvements Drive closure of safety actions from incidents, near misses, and ergonomic assessments Maintain and improve Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and compliance Improve Process Stability Develop and sustain manufacturing control plans and process standards Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to resolve production challenges quickly and effectively Standardize work instructions to ensure consistency and repeatability Lead Continuous Improvement Drive structured problem-solving using root cause analysis and corrective actions Partner with leadership to execute continuous improvement initiatives Share best practices and lessons learned across teams Support New Product Introduction (NPI) Collaborate with engineering teams on equipment procurement, installation, and qualification Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and long-term sustainability Support line setups, model changes, and capacity planning Interface with vendors and OEMs to ensure successful implementation and knowledge transfer What You'll Bring to Our Team Minimum Qualifications 3+ years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Operations/Quality support roles, or equivalent education and experience, including military experience Hands-on experience troubleshooting high-volume manufacturing equipment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Experience with fabrication and injection molding equipment. Hands-on robotics and controls experience in automated manufacturing environments. Knowledge of appliance manufacturing processes. Experience with controls, preventive maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. PLC, distributed I/O, and servo controls experience. Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience or certification. Formal project management experience or training. Working Conditions Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments. Travel Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.
