Fire Alarm Designer (Engineering)

Job Description The Fire Alarm Designer will support a multidisciplinary consulting engineering team by designing, documenting, and coordinating fire alarm and life safety systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional, and government facilities. This role focuses on translating code requirements and engineering direction into clear, constructible fire alarm system design documents. Strong working knowledge of fire alarm and life safety codes (NFPA 72, IBC, IFC). Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit in a production design environment. Experience preparing permit-ready fire alarm drawings and documentation. Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems - Level II or higher). Experience supporting healthcare, higher education, industrial, federal, or mission-critical facilities. Familiarity with fire alarm system manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, Simplex, Edwards, Notifier). Experience coordinating with AHJs and supporting permit reviews.
