Job Description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing environment. The Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing systems, lean principles, and process improvement techniques to drive continuous improvement in our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design & Optimization:
Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, yield, and quality. Conduct process flow analysis and identify areas for improvement in existing systems. Design and implement new processes for product introductions, process enhancements, and cost-saving initiatives.
Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:
Investigate and resolve process-related issues, including equipment malfunctions, quality defects, and production delays. Work closely with production teams to identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Lead process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
Process Control & Documentation:
Create and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and PFMEA. Monitor and control process variables, ensuring production consistency and adherence to quality standards. Implement and support process validation and qualification protocols.
Collaboration & Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., quality assurance, maintenance, R D, production) to ensure smooth integration of process improvements. Provide technical support to operators, technicians, and other team members. Communicate process changes and updates to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze process data and performance metrics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement. Prepare and present reports on process performance, quality metrics, and improvement initiatives to production teams and management. Use statistical tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA) to monitor process variations and ensure process stability.
Training & Development:
Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and safety procedures. Develop and deliver process-related training programs to enhance team capabilities and ensure compliance with standards.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all processes are compliant with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment and ensure safety practices are integrated into all processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. Experience with process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve process-related issues. Proficient in using engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office, ERP systems, etc.). Knowledge of process control, automation, and production systems. Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Certifications (Preferred): Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification. Lean Manufacturing certification. ISO 9001 or other relevant quality certifications.
