Manufacturing Designer Johnson Controls - 3.6 Gilbert, AZ Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Tooling Tooling design Sheet metal Full Job Description Manufacturing Designer (Silent-Aire) Who we are Within our Johnson Controls Data Center Solutions group, Silent-Aire designs, engineers, and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions. What you will do You will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing solutions that support production efficiency in a premier HVAC manufacturing facility. This role is focused on the development of build aids and tooling that improve safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor. Key duties include supporting projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and improve overall manufacturing performance through practical design solutions. How you will do it Design and develop manufacturing build aids (fixtures, jigs, assembly aids, weld tooling, carts, racks) Create and maintain 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production, and Engineering to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions Optimize workstation layouts, material flow, and ergonomics Troubleshoot tooling and process issues and support production Support NPI through tooling and fixture design Participate in Lean initiatives Maintain tooling documentation and revisions
Required:
Associate or Bachelor degree in related field 3+ years manufacturing or tooling design experience CAD experience (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar) Strong understanding of fabrication, weldments, sheet metal Experience designing fixtures, jigs, carts
Preferred:
HVAC or modular manufacturing experience Lean manufacturing knowledge Hands-on fabrication experience Ergonomics and safety design familiarity
