Position Summary The Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for owning and improving manufacturing processes within a precision machining environment. This role focuses on process stability, troubleshooting, and driving measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, and cost. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, is comfortable working independently, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to support production and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Process Ownership Own and maintain assigned manufacturing processes, ensuring consistent performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost Develop, optimize, and document machining processes, including tooling, fixturing, and workholding Lead process validation activities and ensure production readiness for new and existing products Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation Support production with timely troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues Production Support & Equipment Serve as the primary engineering resource for designated production areas Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and uptime Support equipment selection, installation, and process integration Monitor and improve key metrics such as OEE, scrap, and cycle time Quality & Compliance Ensure processes meet
AS9100, IATF
16949, ISO, and customer-specific requirements Support APQP, PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP activities as needed Lead and participate in root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D) for production and quality issues Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence Continuous Improvement Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities Drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and cycle time reduction projects Promote Lean manufacturing principles and standardization across operations Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field 3-5 years of experience in engineering in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of machining processes, process control, and production support Experience troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes independently Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP system experience preferred Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications Preferred Qualifications Experience in precision machining, automotive, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification Experience supporting CNC machining environments and process optimization Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities Hands-on, proactive approach with a strong shop floor presence Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision What We Offer Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO) Professional development and career growth opportunities A collaborative, performance-driven culture Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge manufacturing and aerospace expansion
