Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Manufacturing Process Engineer - Level 1 to join our team. This position will play a key role in supporting various aspects of the manufacturing process, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our production operations. This role involves working closely with production teams, conducting process evaluations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process control plans. Develop, analyze, and optimize metal improvement processes, including anodizing, painting, non-destructive testing (NDT), chem film, dry lube, hardware assembly, pressure test, shot peening etc. Support knowledge sharing initiatives and participate in cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and collaboration across departments. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, conduct process audits, and implement preventive measures to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Provide training and technical guidance to production operators on new processes, equipment, and quality requirements to ensure adherence to established procedures and standards. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase throughput. Participate in process improvement initiatives, utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity. Collaborate with production and quality teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions. Assist in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, including assembly, machining, and inspection, to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures for process deviations. Assist in the development of new processes and technologies to improve product performance and manufacturing capabilities. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry regulations. Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field. Understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and surface treatment techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. Knowledge of industry standards such as
ISO, ASTM, ASME, NADCAP.
Strong technical aptitude and a passion for manufacturing processes and technologies. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and familiarity with engineering drawings and design principles. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and machining principles. Eagerness to learn and grow professionally, with a willingness to take on new challenges and expand technical expertise. Job occasionally requires lifting objects up to 35lbs.
