Senior Process Sustaining Engineering Technician (3rd Shift) Job Description The Senior Process Sustaining Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations through hands-on troubleshooting, equipment support, and process improvement activities in a fast-paced, regulated production environment. This role focuses on maintaining process stability, resolving equipment issues quickly, and ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed. The position requires strong electromechanical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high level of comfort working within established procedures and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by performing hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting on production equipment. Diagnose and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain process stability. Perform mechanical assembly and adjustments on production machinery and related components as needed. Conduct electrical troubleshooting on automation systems, control panels, sensors, and related equipment. Interface with automation systems, including monitoring, adjusting, and supporting automated processes. Contribute to process improvement activities by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and process efficiency. Create, update, and maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and process changes. Follow established procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance in a regulated manufacturing environment. Manage multiple conflicting priorities and adapt quickly to changing production needs and rapid priority shifts. Collaborate with engineering, production, and other technical teams to support process stability and continuous improvement. Travel between sites as needed to support equipment, processes, and operations at multiple locations. Essential Skills Hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or similar technical environment. Strong mechanical assembly skills, including the ability to assemble, adjust, and repair mechanical components. Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, including diagnosing issues with wiring, sensors, and control systems. Experience interfacing with automation systems and supporting automated equipment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle rapid changes in production demands. Strong documentation skills with the ability to create and maintain accurate records in a regulated manufacturing environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced, regulated production environment with established procedures and standards. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and interfacing with automation systems is highly beneficial. Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or similar industries, is an advantage. Willingness to travel between sites as needed to support operations. Entry-level candidates may be trained if they demonstrate strong hands-on aptitude and interest in electromechanical systems. Work Environment The role is based in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment that relies on automated and electromechanical production equipment. Work involves frequent hands-on interaction with machinery, including mechanical assembly, electrical troubleshooting, and interfacing with automation systems. The position requires adherence to established procedures, documentation standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure process stability and product quality. Technicians may move between different production areas and may be required to travel between sites to support operations at multiple locations. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and collaboration with cross-functional technical and production teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
