A Responsibilities:
Develop tooling concepts and support equipment for new and existing programs Design tooling and equipment, including engineering drawings, inspection requirements, and verification plans Work closely with Tool Designers to create and finalize drawings Review designs for manufacturability, fit, form, and function Manage tooling projects, including cost, schedule, procurement, and fabrication Interface with internal customers and design review teams to ensure requirements are met Support vendors during fabrication and inspect fabricated tooling for drawing compliance Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and process engineering to support program quality, delivery, and cost objectives - Support continuous improvement initiatives and proactive problem-solving Safety, Process, and Compliance Design safe and efficient tooling layouts and manufacturing processes Identify and mitigate safety risks in accordance with company and state/government standards Support investigations related to root cause analysis, non-conformances, and process failures
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance & special program access Experience with industry standard design tools including
NX CAD, CATIA
Knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication processes & machine shop practices Experience with drawing release criteria and related documents for: - Completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; Correctness of materials and processes; Conformity to design/drafting standards (e.g. GD&T), design specifications, and practicability; Economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation. Knowledge and application of GD&T (ASME
Y14.5-2018
). Knowledge and application of drawing weld symbols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills in managing time, projects, and resources. Technical attention to detail. Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline Preferred Qualifications Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment Experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of special tooling and support equipment Ability to evaluate vendor capabilities for tooling and aerospace part production - Experience participating in developments project, establishing tooling SOW & design estimates. Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. Excellent organizational and project management skills Experience with stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) Professional Engineering License Current active DOD Secret clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years.
