The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA . The selected candidate will join the STE (Special Test Equipment) Architecture, Engineering and Design team which is challenging the status quo and driving the Model Based Engineering culture and operations outlook. The ideal candidate will bridge manufacturing and electrical systems teams to ensure producible, testable, and cost-effective electrical assemblies. BT&E El Segundo STE architecture and engineering team is responsible for the development and delivery of test system solutions and Special Test Equipment (STE) engineering products to our satellite system test teams. BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including an Experienced or Lead level Manufacturing Engineer.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements Coordinates with supplier management and project managers to ensure that manufacturing requirements, hardware standards, design criteria and schedule performance to build plan, are integrated and accurate Document and communicate producibility best practices Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring Coordinates parts procurement using various tools for management visibility Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Manufacturing, Quality or Production/Industrial Engineering Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 4 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) Experience with parts obsolescence management, assessment & monitoring Experience working with manufacturing planning tools Experience in production systems and integration of the supply chain Experience working with procurement in the acquisition of parts
