Full Job Description Lead Plant Engineer Job Location/Shift:
6am - 2:30pm

Up to $165k
DOE Requirements:
5+ years of engineering experience in a high speed packaging facility focused on maintenance and automation Our facility is Commerce today and moving to La Mirada in July Who We Are We are a premier, mission-driven food manufacturing organization dedicated to nourishing communities across California. While we produce over 35 million meals annually, we are currently in our most exciting phase of growth: a total facility transition and a massive leap into production automation. We aren't looking for a "caretaker" to keep old machines running-we need an architect. With our move to a brand-new facility in La Mirada this July, you will have the rare opportunity to help lead a plant startup. You'll have the autonomy to set up equipment, refine workflows, and integrate cutting-edge robotics (Chef Robotics) the way you've always wanted. For an engineer who lives for the "startup" phase and wants to put their thumbprint on a world-class automated facility, this is your sandbox. What You Will Do Architect the
Startup:
Play a lead role in the July transition to La Mirada, overseeing equipment installation, commissioning, and the optimization of new production lines. Lead the
Robotics Evolution:
Serve as the internal expert for our robotics integration, ensuring advanced automated systems are seamlessly woven into our high-speed environment. Build the
Blueprint:
Implement a "from-scratch" Preventive Maintenance program within our CMMS, establishing the reliability standards that will define the new facility.
Direct Technical Teams:
Lead and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a culture that prioritizes technical precision, Root Cause Analysis, and "smart" maintenance.
Optimize Uptime:
Drive OEE by troubleshooting complex PLC systems (Allen-Bradley) and ensuring every line is tuned for maximum efficiency. What You Need for
This Job Experience:
5+ years of maintenance leadership in high-volume food manufacturing; startup or facility-move experience is a major plus.
Automation Mastery:
Expert PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley) and a deep understanding of robotics, pneumatics, and high-speed conveyors.
Leadership:
A hands-on mentor who excels at coaching technicians through complex technical hurdles on the floor.
Communication:
Bilingual in English and Spanish is required to lead and coordinate with our diverse staff.
Education:
College degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field.
