Job Description:
Kelly Engineering has an exciting direct hire Continuous Improvement Engineer position with a well-established company experiencing dynamic growth in Torrance, CA. This role offers a competitive compensation package and significant opportunities for company growth in a supportive team environment. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead the execution of a multi-phase manufacturing transformation for the Torrance, CA facility, guiding the transition from heavy fabrication to light assembly.
What you will do:
Lead the transition from heavy fabrication to a focus on light assembly through workforce skill and resourcing model redesign and layout, material flow, and work cell configuration. Develop equipment and tooling plans to support a new layout and improve productivity. Apply Lean manufacturing systems principles to support transformation objectives Evaluate and improve space utilization, indirect labor models and operational support structures. Responsible for work cell decommissioning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Proven, hands-on expertise with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies Experience leading manufacturing line/work cell transitions. Direct ownership experience transitioning a facility including layout redesign, work cell decommissioning, material flow, and labor model changes.
