Full Job Description Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Planner responsible for analyzing engineering drawings, models, specifications, manufacturing processes, and related documentation to develop detailed and comprehensive manufacturing work instructions. The selected candidate will support one or more planning groups related to machine parts, composite assemblies, airframe structures, aircraft systems, wiring and electrical systems, plumbing, aircraft maintenance, MRB, or coatings. This role requires strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, tooling, fabrication processes, and engineering documentation within an aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, models, and manufacturing requirements to develop accurate manufacturing work instructions and supporting documentation Determine practical manufacturing operations, sequences, and processes in accordance with project plans and company policies Create and maintain detailed work instructions for manufacturing and assembly operations Collaborate with Engineering, Tool Design, Tool Shops, and Production teams to ensure manufacturing instructions align with engineering and production requirements Investigate manufacturing issues and support corrective actions related to planning and production processes Interpret and advise on tooling, fabrication, inspection, and manufacturing methods to support efficient production operations Support manufacturing planning activities related to aircraft structures, systems, assemblies, wiring, maintenance, and coatings
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience developing manufacturing work instructions or equivalent experience supporting manufacturing/engineering documentation development Proven experience creating comprehensive work instructions related to one or more of the following: Machine parts, Composite details and assemblies, Airframe structures, Aircraft systems and check-outs, Wiring and electrical systems, Plumbing, Aircraft maintenance, MRB or coatings Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing documentation Working knowledge of fabrication methods, tooling, manufacturing processes, and inspection procedures related to aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments Experience using SAP, MS Office, CAPP/SFM, Solumina/iBASEt, Teamcenter, 3DX, or similar manufacturing/planning systems Strong written communication and instructional writing skills
Desired Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance, current investigation within the last 5 years, or Continuous Evaluation (CE) enrollment preferred Understanding of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), and Order Bill of Materials (OBOM) structures Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve BOM-related manufacturing issues Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor Experience with PLM systems such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, or SAP PLM Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred Strong communication and coordination skills within engineering, manufacturing, and procurement environments BI03

$40.00 - $60.00 per hour
