Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM•4:00 PM (Must be available to work overtime as needed)
Compensation:
$70,000•$75,000 annually
Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer supports quality operations by coordinating customer returns, validating return reasons, and supporting corrective action activities related to returned products. This role is responsible for reviewing and approving product routings, quality plans, and inspection plans to help ensure manufacturing and quality requirements are met. The position also coordinates AS9102 first article inspection activities, including determining FAI requirements, preparing inspection documentation, and reviewing FAIR submissions to support compliance and overall product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Review manufacturing planning for incorporation of inspection and test points and determine special gauging requirements for manufactured products Determine FAIR requirements in accordance with AS9102, including identifying requirements, creating templates, reviewing and approving FAIR documentation, and maintaining records Facilitate customer returns, including validating return reasons, coordinating receiving inspections, creating work orders, and providing customer follow-up support Support contract reviews for new orders as needed Perform trend analysis on product issues and corrective actions related to product returns Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical industry experience) in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline 1-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control Strong written and verbal communication skills Experience with mechanical and/or automated inspection techniques Thorough understanding of quality systems and problem-solving methodologies Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs Ability to interpret technical requirements, including drawings and standards, and apply them within quality systems and manufacturing processes Ability to problem-solve and effectively manage a variety of issues Excellent communication and time management skills Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle, operate, or feel objects, tools, and controls Ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and climb or maintain balance as needed Regularly required to communicate verbally with staff and effectively understand responses Occasional travel by road and/or air may be required to support client, vendor, and subcontractor needs Occasionally required to lift and move equipment weighing 30+ pounds, including overhead lifting, bending, prolonged standing, and twisting This position may alternate between sedentary and active responsibilities to support coordination and follow-up with various departments
Pay:
$70,000.00•$75,000.00 per year
