Manufacturing Process & Operational Improvement Consultant Northern California Travel Required (75%-90%) About Strategy3 Strategy3 provides Operational Improvement, Supply Chain, and Project Management services to manufacturing and distribution companies. Our team of engineers and business professionals partners with medium-to-large multinational manufacturers to implement measurable and sustainable operational improvements directly at client manufacturing sites. Strategy3 is headquartered in Dayton, OH. Position Summary Strategy3 is seeking a Manufacturing Process & Operational Improvement Consultant to support manufacturing transformation, process optimization, and operational transition initiatives within complex manufacturing environments. This role combines operational consulting, manufacturing process improvement, documentation development, and implementation support to help clients establish scalable, repeatable, and sustainable manufacturing systems. The position works cross-functionally with engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, and production teams to improve operational readiness, process continuity, workforce capability, and overall manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, highly organized, and capable of translating manufacturing observations into structured improvement plans, standardized procedures, and measurable operational results. Key Responsibilities Participate in onsite manufacturing assessments and operational improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities for process, quality, material flow, inventory, labor, and production improvements. Observe, analyze, and document current-state manufacturing processes and workflows. Capture operational knowledge from operators, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and leadership teams. Develop standardized manufacturing documentation. Create visual work instructions using photographs, engineering drawings, screenshots, and process documentation. Develop metrics and performance indicators to measure operational effectiveness and project success. Evaluate production methods, cycle times, staffing models, and process flows to support management decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial engineering, process improvement, or operational consulting environments. Preferred Experience Experience within PCBA, SMT, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing environments is highly preferred. Experience with the following processes and systems is a plus: SMT and PTH Assembly
