Aerospace Location:
U.S.-Based Manufacturing Facility (Onsite) Overview A leading U.S. electronics manufacturing organization supporting aerospace and defense customers is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and support production processes for high?reliability electronic assemblies. This role ensures products meet customer requirements for quality, performance, and on?time delivery in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to meet U.S. export control compliance standards (EAR/ITAR). Qualified candidates must meet the definition of a U.S. Person under federal regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop, document, and maintain Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) for electronic assemblies. Leverage aerospace or defense manufacturing experience to support high?reliability production requirements. Establish and improve processes to maximize product quality and high?volume efficiency. Design, define, and procure specialized tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids. Monitor production yields, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement activities in partnership with Quality teams. Participate in customer discussions related to quality performance, engineering actions, and ongoing process enhancements. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from prototype through full production. Review, process, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) . Lead or support RMA root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation. Collaborate with Quality teams to address and resolve customer Corrective Action Requests (CARs). Required Skills & Experience Ability to interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and quality requirements for electronic assemblies. Strong understanding of SMT processes , soldering techniques, and standards such as IPC?A?610 and IPC?J?STD?001 . Hands-on experience with SMT operations including solder paste printing, pick?and?place, reflow, and AOI. Familiarity with technical software (Aegis, CircuitCam, or similar) is a plus. Solid grasp of DFM and DFT concepts and their application in electronics manufacturing. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, quality, and customer-facing teams. Education & Background Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent related experience). Minimum 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing, preferably within an EMS or aerospace/defense environment. Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and AS9102 reporting requirements.
