Duties & Responsibilities:
Position Description :
We are seeking an experienced, customer focused Quality Engineer to work on-site with our Manufacturing and Engineering teams at Viavi Solutions in Santa Rosa, CA. Primary responsibilities for the position include: Understanding and translating customer specifications and requirements into internal documents, test plans, and work instructions. Collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and management teams to ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery of compliant products. Assuring that in-process and final product data meets all customer and internal requirements; expected active participation in customer meetings and communications. Maintaining ongoing quality documentation specific to several manufacturing and product lines. Driving and leading improvement teams to implement changes that accelerate the business and proactively reduce the risk for errors and non-conformances. Pre-Requisites / Skills /
Experience Requirements:
Required Skills/Qualifications :
Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering or related sciences. Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing or Quality Engineer in a production environment. Good verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, and data analysis competence; ability to communicate effectively with high-performing peer groups, manufacturing, and customers. Solid foundation in statistical analysis; working knowledge of Minitab desired; experience with JMP is a plus. Working knowledge of how to create and evaluate flow charts, FMEAs, Control Plans, Control Charts, and Measurement Systems Analyses. Experience deploying Six Sigma/ Lean Manufacturing principles; Green Belt or Black Belt certification desirable. Able to prioritize and complete multiple projects and tasks on time; ability to multi-task is imperative. Previous Quality experience in large government contracts and/or automotive manufacturing is a plus. This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. Job Posting Pay Range:
75,600 to 140,400 Exceptional qualifications, experience and location may impact salary. VIAVI offers a competitive benefits package that includes paid time off , health, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and a bonus program.
