Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer - X-Ray Tube manufacturing Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support the production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of high-voltage x-ray tubes, x-ray sources, and related assemblies. This role works closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers to solve technical problems, improve process stability, and support production operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting electrical and electro-mechanical systems, and driving practical solutions in a fast-paced environment. Experience with high voltage systems, analog electronics, grounding practices, and manufacturing process improvement is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Support daily manufacturing operations involving x-ray tubes, high-voltage assemblies, and voltage multiplier systems Troubleshoot electrical, electro-mechanical, and process-related production issues Work directly with technicians and assemblers to resolve manufacturing and test problems in real time Develop, improve, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and test processes Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions Support product builds from prototype through production release Evaluate manufacturing yields, process stability, and product reliability to identify improvement opportunities Work with engineering teams to improve manufacturability, serviceability, and overall product robustness Assist with electrical testing, validation, and failure analysis using standard lab equipment Support compliance and quality initiatives related to ISO9001, CE, IEC, and internal manufacturing standards Collaborate with suppliers and high-voltage power supply manufacturers when resolving integration or field-related issues Participate in engineering change implementation and documentation updates Help maintain safe work practices when working with high voltage and x-ray producing equipment Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, test engineering, electrical troubleshooting, or related hands-on technical role Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings Experience using common electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies Good communication skills and ability to work closely with manufacturing personnel and cross-functional teams Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-voltage systems, x-ray equipment, or power electronics Familiarity with analog and digital electronics troubleshooting Understanding of grounding, shielding, EMI, surge suppression, and conducted noise issues Experience supporting regulated products or quality systems such as ISO9001 or CE compliance Familiarity with vacuum systems, potting, encapsulation, or high-voltage insulation practices Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives Exposure to SPC, process validation, PFMEA, or root cause analysis methodologies Working Environment & Physical Requirements Position involves regular work in manufacturing and laboratory environments Frequent interaction with high-voltage equipment and x-ray generating devices Proper safety procedures and PPE are required at all times Some lifting, assembly support, and movement of equipment may be required Occasional travel may be required to support suppliers or customers What we're looking for We are looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, works well with production teams, and is willing to dig into technical issues until they are understood and resolved.
