Job Description:
Position Summary The Project Engineer is responsible for leading cross-functional teams through the successful execution of aerospace and defense manufacturing development and production projects. This role serves as a key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, program management, and customers to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with all regulatory and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, and capable of driving accountability across multiple departments in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams supporting aerospace and defense development and production programs. Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and action items to ensure projects progress according to schedule and customer requirements. Monitor project execution across engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and operations teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks or delays. Ensure compliance with aerospace, defense, customer, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle. Support product development, production readiness, process improvements, and configuration management activities. Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and communication between internal stakeholders and external customers. Track project milestones, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables while maintaining accurate project documentation. Assist with root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate engineering changes, production launches, qualification activities, and manufacturing transitions. Support audit readiness and compliance efforts related to
AS9100, ISO
standards, customer specifications, and government contracting requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required. 3+ years of project engineering, manufacturing engineering, or program support experience within aerospace, defense, or regulated manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, product development, and production operations. Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to completion. Knowledge of aerospace and defense compliance standards including AS9100, ISO, configuration management, and quality systems preferred. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across technical and operational teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and project tracking tools.
